Big news for anyone craving major volume, Aveda is introducing a breakthrough styling product that promises to take your blowouts to the next level. If you missed our recent Breakroom Conversations Instagram Live, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Neill’s own Stefanie Roldan sat down with Brittany “Britt” Dion, Aveda’s Artistic Director of Styling for North America, to talk about the upcoming Abundant Blow Out Spray and why stylists are already buzzing about it.
Britt Dion isn’t just any stylist; she’s Aveda’s North America Artistic Director of Styling (since 2019) and was part of the elite task force that helped develop Abundant Blow Out Spray from the ground up. With years of experience both behind the chair and as an educator, Britt brings a unique perspective on what stylists and clients really need in a volumizing product. When Aveda began working on this new spray, Britt was one of the experts invited to lend her insight.

“The way that Aveda is crafting these products nowadays is completely different, and we’re developing some of the best products I’ve ever seen because of it.”
Britt’s involvement meant the product was truly shaped by stylist input.
Fun fact: Aveda flew Britt and a star-studded group of stylists (think Antoinette Beenders, Allen Ruiz, and more) to the Aveda HQ in Blaine, MN to collaborate directly with product scientists.
The goal? To make sure this spray delivers real, stylist-approved results.
The journey to Abundant Blow Out Spray began with a simple question: What are we missing? Aveda asked its network of stylists what clients were requesting and where current products were falling short.
The feedback was loud and clear: people wanted bigger, longer-lasting blowout results that don’t take a ton of effort – and that clients can recreate at home.
As Britt put it, “We all know that we (stylists) can blow out hair. But the true test is, can your guest do it at home? Can that look last when they are not with you? This product truly gives them that capability.”
Stefanie noted that as technology evolves and new ingredients emerge, it’s crucial to keep upgrading Aveda’s product offerings. This new spray is a direct response to that philosophy. It wasn’t about releasing just another version of an old favorite; it was about innovating something different.

In fact, Aveda legend Allen Ruiz challenged the development team with a pointed question: Why are we making another volumizer at all? It has to earn its place. That challenge pushed everyone to define what would make this product truly special, not just a rehash of Volumizing Tonic™ or Phomollient™ Styling Foam. The answer would come through in the formulation: touchable softness, weightless root-to-tip lift, and serious staying power.
To ensure those lofty goals were met, Aveda tried something unprecedented: they brought the stylists into the lab. Britt was amazed by the process. Instead of the usual back-and-forth of mailed lab samples and feedback forms, she and a team of top stylists sat side-by-side with Aveda’s scientists in real time. “They actually brought the scientists that create the products in the room with us,” Britt said, allowing for instant dialogue.

Over a two-day innovation blitz at Aveda HQ, the team tested three prototype formulas (code-named A, B, and C on day one). The stylists didn’t hold back—giving candid notes like “this one feels a bit sticky” or “that one isn’t giving enough hold.” The scientists took those notes and, incredibly, reformulated overnight. When the team returned on day two, they faced a blind test with newly tweaked formulas (this time humorously labeled “Beyoncé,” “Nicki,” “Christina,” and “Britney” to avoid any bias). The result? The stylists unanimously zeroed in on the winning formula by feel alone.
“It was mind-blowing that they could do that overnight,” Britt laughed, describing how quickly the science team turned their feedback into reality. This level of collaboration meant the final product was truly crafted to meet stylists’ real-world needs.
So what exactly sets this new Abundant Blow Out Spray apart from the many volumizers already on the shelf? Let’s break down the highlights:

“The biggest difference is how it makes your hair feel. You get that smooth, soft finish and the lift. In the past, volumizers gave you one or the other.” – Britt Dion, Aveda NA Artistic Director of Styling.
Oh, and like all new Aveda products, it’s 100% vegan and cruelty-free—powerful plant-based volume you can feel good about.)

One exciting aspect of Abundant Blow Out Spray is how nicely it plays with other styling products. You can use it solo for a one-and-done volumizer, or cocktail it with other Aveda favorites to customize the effect for different hair types. Britt shared a few of her go-to strategies for maximizing results:
Of course, you can experiment with your own combos—Abundant Blow Out Spray was formulated to be versatile. It provides a beautiful balance, so it can soften harder-hold styling products or add more structure to very moisturizing ones. “You can spot-treat with it too,” Britt added. For example, if a client already has some natural root lift but the ends are collapsing, simply spray the product through the mid-ends and blow dry; you’ll achieve that targeted fullness right where you need it. It’s all about customizing the volume without compromising the hair’s touchable feel.
Although Abundant Blow Out Spray hasn’t even officially launched yet, it’s already making waves among those lucky enough to demo it. In fact, the product had a show-stopping sneak preview at Aveda’s recent Congress event in Minneapolis. During the conference’s high-energy stylist showcases, Aveda’s President Shane Wolf gave the crowd a taste of what this spray can do. He brought out a model and, with each spritz, worked her bouffant higher and higher, joking, “We’re manifesting abundance here!” as the audience went wild. It was a bold (and literal) demonstration of “bigger is better”, and it drove home the point: this spray delivers serious volume.

Britt was at Congress 2025 as well, and she witnessed the frenzy firsthand. “Congress had me thinking more about our conversation… by Monday, I could not find a single bottle of this,” she laughed. Every sample bottle of the new spray that had been in the demo area magically vanished—snapped up by stylists who couldn’t wait to keep using it. “It was probably one of the most used products,” Britt said of the weekend.
Some stylists were even sneaking it into their suitcases. (Can you blame them? Once you get a taste of that gravity-defying yet soft volume, you’re hooked!)
“We’re not just launching another product; we’re solving a problem. This gives you volume that lasts and hair that feels amazing. Instead of guests saying, ‘Why would I need another volumizer?’ they’ll say, ‘I finally found the one that does it all.’” – Stefanie Roldan, Neill Education Team (on why Abundant Blow Out Spray is a game-changer)
With all this excitement, the natural question is: When can you get your hands on it? The Abundant Blow Dry Spray is slated to launch soon, and trust us, it’s worth the anticipation. “We cannot wait for the launch date,” Stefanie exclaimed, echoing the feelings of everyone who’s tried it. Keep an eye on Aveda’s official channels and stay tuned – the moment this product goes live, you’ll want to snag it.
